01 / Pre-Surgical Dos & Don'ts
Mandatory Preparations
- Medical History: Disclose all current prescriptions, previous anesthesias, and clotting concerns during preliminary consultation.
- Hydration & Rest: Maintain normal fluid intake until the designated fasting window and obtain at least eight hours of rest prior to surgery.
- Apparel: Wear loose, front-buttoning garments to avoid inadvertent contact with the facial area post-procedure.
Critical Restrictions
- Anticoagulants & Supplements: Discontinue aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, omega-3, and herbal formulations exactly 14 days prior to prevent intraoperative bleeding.
- Fasting Compliance: Strict fasting (no water, food, or lozenges) commencing eight hours before intravenous sedation.
- Nicotine & Alcohol: Total cessation for a minimum of two weeks. Nicotine contracts microvasculature and severely compromises tissue perfusion.
02 / International Patient Transit
- Arrival Schedule: Plan arrival in Seoul at least 24 hours prior to surgery for face-to-face 3D-CT diagnostics and final surgical design.
- Seoul Stay Duration: Maintain a minimum 7 to 10 day stay. Internal splints, silastic airway stents, and skin sutures are safely removed on Day 7.
- Cabin Pressure Clearance: Long-haul air travel is cleared only after bilateral nasal packing and suture removal to avert sinus barotrauma.
03 / Swelling Reduction Protocols
- Thermal Management: Apply dry cold packs across the periorbital zone continuously for 72 hours. Transition to warm compresses from Day 4 onward to encourage vascular circulation.
- Postural Elevation: Rest in a supine position with the head elevated 30 to 45 degrees for the first 14 days to prevent dependent lymphatic pooling.
- In-Clinic Care: Attend scheduled low-level light therapy (LLLT) and specialized deswelling sessions at our Sinsa clinic.
